I'd recently posted a message on my cousin Jacque's Facebook page after seeing a beautiful photo she uploaded from a trip to Camiguin Island a week before. I said how much I would want to get to go to the beach one last time before summer was over, at least in this part of the world. (I'm actually headed for my second summer next week, when I head back to the U.S. Yay!)
She asked if I still had time to visit the family out of town and within minutes, I booked myself and my husband Cebu Pacific tickets online. I actually only had enough money for the one-way trip, and I figured, I would buy the tickets for going back later in the week. Jacque, being naturally quick and efficient, scheduled the boat that would take us to another island (secret!) about an hour from where they live. Talk about fun and relaxing!
Here are some photos from our trip.
I suddenly miss my childhood in Camiguin, where my family and I used to go there on whims since it was just a ferry boat ride away from Cagayan de Oro. Its such a great little island too, one stop everything. They have waterfalls, hot and cold springs, great beaches -- everything!
ReplyDeleteHi, Aliyya! Thanks for dropping by here :) My family took me to Camiguin also last year; it was lovely. This time around, in Agutayan Island (not so secret anymore, haha), also a boat ride away from CDO. We really have the best beaches in the Philippines!
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful! I feel bad not being able to visit Camiguin when I was in CDO. Next time :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Teeyah! Yes, next time :) Check out the Cebu Pacific seat sales from time to time, they're unbelievable!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Its supposed to be summer here, pero its been raining like crazy the past week.
ReplyDeleteClear waters, blue skies, white sand.....i miss the Philippines.
ReplyDeleteHi Mariel,
ReplyDeleteFinally found your blog! It's Lyn, friend of Jacque's :) Love the photos. That was indeed the perfect pre-back to school getaway for the kids (or work, in your case). I'm missing your carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting after seeing it here in your blog... yum!
Lyn!!! Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving a comment :) It was very nice to meet you a few weeks ago. Aww, I'm glad you liked the carrot cupcakes! Let me know if you want the recipe, I can share it with you. (It's actually a slightly modified version of Ina Garten's Carrot and Pineapple Cake.)
